Tot School: June 15-21, 2009

Sunshine is 23 months old. We did alot of work with fine motor skills this week.

I bought a set of Curious George paintable sun catchers in the dollar bin at Target and Kayley LOVED painting them.

Then I tried to get her to pump water into a bucket using a small lotion bottle, but it was not a big hit. As you can see from the second picture she was more interested in trying to unscrew the pump portion of the bottle to just dump the water out at once.

Her stacking pegs were a big hit this week as well! She loves to stack them into one big tower and when they fall over she cracks up laughing and does it all over again. I would also pick up one color peg and say, "Sunshine, find me another yellow one" in which she was able to do with no problems!

Her piggy bank that oinks when you put in a coin was played with alot this week too. She does so well putting in the coins and she can even get the bottom off of it herself to dump out the coins and do it all over again. Sometimes, she "cheats" and flips the piggy over to put the coins in through the bottom. Hehe..

Each year our local beach holds a sand sculpting competition and we went on Saturday to go check it out. The scluptures were AMAZING as always! I took way too many pics so picked out my favorites to share.

Here are the fathers day cards and gifts Sunshine made for her daddy, papa, and grandpa. The inside of each of the cards say, "You're a great catch!" She colored in the fish on the fronts. The coffee mugs were a great hit amoung the guys too! She finger painted the paper around the cup in blue paint and then I added a saying that was appropriate to whom ever was receiving it.

I love the Father's day cards and gifts you made! I am going to steal that idea for next year. I am also impressed with the potty training, my little has shown no interest. I read you post before this one and my little one loves Elmo also. We have Elmo Live and I really recommend it, he says the cutest things!

Miss Sunshine did a great job on her Father's Day presents! It's great that she can identify the color when asked - that's how my daughter learned them first. She still couldn't name them correctly, but she could pick the right colors on a cue.

Jess, such fabulous ideas! It's 7:30 in the morning and I'm all inspired to do some fun stuff with Maddie now! What a lucky little girl she is to have you as a mommy. Keep it up (and keep inspiring me!!).
