An Evening at the Beach... in MARCH????

Mother Nature has been teasing us here in New England with some unseaonably warm tempertaures!  Once the weather bug bites me I get ansty to go to the beach.  One day after work this past week I took Sunshine and her best friend R!  It was a beautiful evening and there was hardly anyone there.

First off, here is my girl in all her cuteness scoping out a good spot to dig!

R working on her sand castle!

Working together!

R blowing bubbles and Sunshine popping them! Doe you see the bubble by her knee?

A cool rock pile that Sushine and R created!

I see a bubble, do you??

And one last shot as the sun began to set!

Roger Williams Park - Sept 2011

My very good friend and co-teacher, Meegan, invited Kayley and I to join her in RI at the Roger Williams Park.  We went to the zoo to start and saw lots of great animals. What a lovely zoo it is!  The habitats are so nice!

Then we headed over to the carousel, which we rode twice! Its a neat, old carousel with lots of different animals to ride on!

My lovely co-teacher Meegan!  She is a hoot and I adore her!! She has been by my side day in and day out with all of the craziness in our lives lately.  Don't know what I'd do with out her!

Last, we headed over to the playground! It's a great playground that is appropriate for all ages, including children with special needs.

All in all it was a GREAT day!  Thanks Meegan for such a good time!

Christmas Fun Fair!

Our good friends Evan and Sheryl told us about a Christmas Fair that was happening this past Friday at the school Sheryl teaches at. It was REALLY cute! There was one room that you could go shopping in and another room for games/crafts.  The crafts and games were all on a ticket system; each ticket was .25 or 5 for $1.00.  She chose to decorate a ginger bread cookie and make two crafts.  One of the crafts was a penguin thermometer and the other a foam snowman.

I am so thankful...

The following post is going to be tough to read for some, so if you are a very emotional/sensitive person you may want to skip this one.

I found out this evening that a friends 14 month old son drowned on Monday evening in a pond on their property. I am so very sad for poor R and his family. I am so stricken with guilt as I gaze over at my perfectly healthy, typically developing daughter. Hearing this shocking news really puts things into perspective for me with the challenges we face in our every day lives that those things are so petty compared to what R's family is going through as they grieve the loss of their son.

I am so thankful that my child is healthy and happy. Please god, keep R's family in your graces and help then through this time as you have chosen to call R back to you.

Everyone, in honor or R, please go that extra mile and show your love to those you care for most and remind them how thnakful you are to have them in your life and how much you cherish/love them.
