This evening continued the summer series that our local library puts on. Tonight was Steve Blunt, a singer/song writer/musician, who provides WONDERFUL family entertainment. (As as matter of fact I have one of his CDs in my preschool classroom!) Sunshine had a BLAST as she loves music and loves to dance!
Having a quick snack while waiting for the show to begin!
Steve opened the evening by singing "With a Little Help From My Friends"! LOVE THIS SONG!
Sunshine LOVES LOVE LOVES drums and was so excited to play Steve's drum!
Looking a little like John Travolta!! LOL!!
Hoping along to "Hip Hop Kangaroo"
Getting to shake an egg shaker!!!!
Shaking her tooshie to the music!
Saying thank you to Steve and getting a high five after the show!
Thanks for the wonderful show Steve!!!!! It was GREAT!
Today we met up with a couple of our friends at one of our favorite local parks: Livingston Park. We only stayed for a short time as I work in the early afternoons, but it was a good time none the less! Sunshine is getting so brave on some of the climbing structures!
Flying like a bird! WHEEE!
My friend Ellen and her little guy RJ, who will be a big bro in late November/early December!
Today it was VERY hot around here. (I believe it hit over 100* with the heat index! WHOA!) So in order to stay cool and have something fun to do, Sunshine and I went to Chuck E Cheese; I had found some tokens left over from a previous visit so off we went! We played for a few hours and once we ran out of tokens we went home. Sunshine was so well behaved! I was so proud of her. Not one melt down about any thing while we were there! She is such a sweet, wonderful little girl.
Posing with the mechanical Chuck E.
We did not get to see the "real" one walking around.
Riding some rides and playing some games!
More rides and games!
Video of Sunshine riding the carousel!
Video of Sunshine riding a wave runner type game!
Cashing in her tickets and turning them in for goodies! She is such a funny little girl. She had almost 300 tickets to spend and she picked out a bracelet, granola bar, and an air head candy. She still has 90 tickets left over for another time!
Tomorrow Lil' Miss Sunshine turns 4 years old at exactly 6:22 PM! I can NOT believe it! I have planned a bash for her on Saturday and here is a sneak peek of the decorations I have created with my Cricut! I can NOT wait!!!

I am taking part in this great read-a-thon in October. Here is information directly from their website (don't worry, I have permission to use it!):
What are you doing on October 6? How does breaking a world reading record while raising awareness about America’s achievement gap sound?
Join us as we participate in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® presented in partnership with Pearson Foundation. Its a national campaign that mobilizes adults and children to close the early education achievement gap by setting a reading world record.
This annual campaign allows Americans to demand that all children receive the quality early education they deserve. On October 6, 2011, more than 2 million voices will call for an end to America’s early education achievement gap by readingLlama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney – setting a world record in the process!
Get involved at www.readfortherecord.org to help Jumpstart close the early education achievement gap:
1. Pledge to Read: Submit your official pledge and help us reach more than 2.1 MILLION children. 2. Spread the Word: Use our simple tools to educate your friends and family about America’s early education achievement gap and invite them to read.
Our local library is doing a series they call "Family Fare" every Thursday night through the summer where they are providing free family entertainment. Tonight was the fist night of the series and it featured Dan Grady who is a marionette master. He put on an amazing show it was the first time Sunshine had ever seen marionettes. (Click on the images to see them larger!)
We brought dinner along with us as we went directly from my part time job to the show!
Dan telling us all about how he hand makes all of his marionettes.

Today Sunshine and I met up with a couple of close friends at our local splash pad! It was a warm 85* when we arrived at 10:00 this morning so it was a perfect day to get wet!
