Creating Easter Cards

Sunshine had 4 Easter Cards to create.  We used stamps and two different kinds of stickers! We did it over two nights as she got tired of doing them the first night! LOL!!  She even signed them herself! YAY!

Roller Painting & Color Mixing

For Christmas Sunshine received this Sponge Painting Design Set from Lakeshore Learning.  We used the rollers the other night and she had a great time!  I put out white, yellow, and blue paint.  As she painted the colors mixed and created various shades of green.  She was so excited to watch the colors mix!  I taped a long piece of paper to the floor and let her go at it!  She loved it so much I had to add a second piece! By the time she was done there was paint all over her hand, feet, and the floor but it was well worth the mess!

Valentine's Day Art

Sunshine and I sat down with some glue, heart shaped doilies, and heart shaped stickers the other night! Here is what we created!

Starting the process of creating her Valentine's for Daddy, my parents, and DH parents.

And here is the finished work!  The small sticker on the back says her name and 2011.

Then she got creative and used the left over doilies and heart stickers to create this masterpiece!  The picture really doesn't do it justice.  She stacked the 6 remaining doilies, in a pattern of red/pink/red/pink, etc and they are actually 3D looking!! Its so neat!!!

Christmas Activities 2010

Here are a bunch of Christmas themed activities that we did with Sunshine.  Some of it came from 1+1+1=1 and others came from items I purchased at the dollar store.

Budding Artist?

Upon arriving home from work the other day, I found Sunshine hard at work drawing on her easel.  She really loves to draw using chalk! I can hardly wait until we have a permanent place to keep this set up all the time for her!

I was astonished at the person she drew! It is her first one and I am so proud of her!!!  Look at all those body parts: eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hair, arms, and legs! WOW!!!

Tot School: June 29-July 5, 2009

Sunshine is 23 months, 3 weeks old.

Sunshine made a flag in honor of the 4th and to celebrate our country! I cut the strips of paper and she glued them on. She then used a q-tip with white paint to make stars.

She enjoyed painting with the q-tips so much that she continued on another piece of paper with added green paint!

She got a new coloring book from the dollar store that is all about Elmo and Sesame Street so she enjoyed coloring in that for a bit with markers.

In the tub, she worked on scooping and pouring!

On Tuesday, my BFF Sheryl and I took our kids to the New England Aquarium. The kiddos loved looking at the fish and penguins!

On Friday Sunshine's daddy had the day off from work so we went to The Butterfly Place! It was so much fun! We bought a kit to hatch our own painted lady butterfly at home so that will be fun to watch as it grows and changes!

We also spent time outside on Friday afternoon scrabbing down Sunshines water table; her with a LARGE sponge and myself with a scrub brush. We also cleaned off the table and chairs we keep in our backyard. She LOVED this activity so much!! She was soaked from head to toe and when we were through she had a nice, warm bath!

Books we enjoyed this week:
2. Elmo's First Book of Colors

These Colors Don't Run

Sunshine created an American Flag in honor of tomorrow being the Fourth of July. I pre-cut all the pieces and she glued them on. I had pre-glued the blue rectangle at the top left and then she used a q-tip and white paint to add the "stars".

Happy Birthday America!!!

Coloring Easter Eggs for the First Time!

Tonight we colored eggs for the first time! K loved it!!! She got pretty cranky when we were all done, silly girl! At one point she got a bit over-zealous with the dye and ended up with a pink spot on her leg that I fear will take a few baths to wash off! Oh well, guess she is just showing her true colors!
