Easter Fun: Part One!

We began our Easter fun by deocrating this cute little Spring/Easter tree that I have had for MANY years!  Sunshine loved hanging the decorations on it.

This past Saturday when Sunshine went to breakfast with the Easter bunny with her grandparents (Daddy's parents). They had a pancake breakfast and then they got to visit with the bunny.  Sunshine sat on the bunny many times which is a huge change from last year when she put up her hand and said, "No, no no!"  She also got a cute little basket with a small stuffed bunny and of course some candy.  (Grandma and grandpa took pictures of course, but we don't have them yet!)  She was so excited about her breakfast with the bunny that she talked about it a lot on Saturday.

On Monday our local children's museum, Kaleidoscope, had an Easter party which we attended.  It was great fun - face painting, playing, visiting with the bunny, and story time.  For story time, the read The Runaway Bunny which is a very cute story about a bunny who tries to run away from his mommy bunny and she tells him she would follow him where ever he might run to.  We did lots of playing too!

Sunshine also had her face painted for the first time! She did a GREAT job staying still!  She chose to have a choo-choo painted on her cheek.

And the most exciting part was getting to visit with the bunny (a female bunny, this time!) and getting a egg with a goodie inside!

Then later on Monday we went to visit the Easter Bunny at the mall to get a picture taken with him!!!  She did GREAT and was so excited to sit on his lap! I will post the pic once I have to scanned.

Stay tuned for more Easter fun this weekend with Tot School and other Easter celebrations!

Tot School: Tot Trays

Sunshine is 32 months old.

I received the trays I ordered from Oriental Trading to make Tot Trays finally! YAY! I set them up this week and they are all we worked on this week (for the most part) because I wanted Sunshine to get used to the concept of them; how to take them out, use them, and put them away. I started with 4 trays but may expand to 6 at some point.

Here are the 4 trays we worked on this week:
Magnet Letters

Clipping clothes pin to the corresponding color circle

Transferring with a spoon

Lacing beads

I wasn't very good about taking pictures this week, but here she is working on the transferring tray, which she decided would be more exciting if it was sorting! (Daddy took these pictures for me as a matter of fact, during the day while they were home together on Monday. Thank you daddy!!)

She also went to the library for story time with daddy on Wednesday and she made this cute little duck after they read a few books; he however became handicapped on their way home as he somewhere lost a wing and a foot! Oh well, he is cute anyways!

We also have some nice warm weather this week and so we played outside a lot! We went to the park a few times and played ball in our backyard. She does really well hitting the ball with her bat.

She has been working on this paper for two weeks now! Several times this week she asked to add more and more letters! Silly girl!

Favorite picture of the week:
We bought two new lamps and Sunshine thought the foam packaging for the glass shade made a good hat!

Muffin Tin Monday: Yellow

This weeks theme for MTM was yellow. This was such a challenge to me as there are not many yellow foods that Sunshine WILL eat. So here is what I came up with:
Photobucket
Scrambled Eggs, banana, golden delicious apple slices, corn, and a fortune cookie. Even her fork and cup were yellow to boot, but I didn't get a picture of those! See what others have created for the yellow theme here.

Tot School: Shapes Part 3

Sunshine is 31 months old.

We continued out shapes theme this week and I think we will do it for one more week as I have a few activities planned that we have not gotten to.

SUNDAY:
While watching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics, Sunshine asked to "make some shapes" so I pulled out a couple of gluing projects I had set for later in the week. She made a sun and a penguin. She loves the penguin so much that she keeps asking to make it again and again! Hehe... Silly girl!

MONDAY:
Sunshine hasn't played with her sensory bucket in a while, but asked to play with it alot this week so here she is with daddy digging.

We had our first Muffin Tin Monday dinner! The muffin tin was shaped like hearts and we had a picnic with our dinner on the living room floor. (I had forgotten there was a weekly theme with MTM, so I hope it's ok that I linked up!)

WEDNESDAY:
In the morning, Daddy got in on the Tot School fun and painted with Sunshine while I was at work.

We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday this week by reading lots of Dr. Seuss books and doing some Dr. Seuss activities. The first was a pom-pom page with Thing Two from The Cat in the Hat that I found here.

We also made a Cat in the Hat shape book that I found here.

Sunshine was also interested in exploring with letters this week and insisted on gluing foam letters onto paper. As we did we talked about the colors of the letters, what letter they were, and what sound they make.

THURSDAY:
I made two more Cat in the Hat related games. One was shape matching and the other color matching, but I didn't get any pictures of her doing either since I forgot! Bad Tot School Mommy, BAD!

Favorite picture of the week:
Sunshine and daddy were playing on the couch together.
