Tot School: Shapes Part 2

Sunshine is 31 months old.

This week was a bit of a light week for Tot School as it was February Vacation Week here in NH so we went on many "field trips" as a family, but here is what we did get accomplished. We continued working on shapes this week.

Sunshine worked on this heart matching game from Carissa. She really liked it and enjoyed identifying the animals. She did it 2x. The 2nd time she was making up her own matches and then saying, "No that isn't right!!!" then she'd giggle and put it in the right spot. She also told me the skunk was STINKY!

Then we made this cute little mouse out of all hearts! Sunshine really loved this.

I found this little set of lacing beads at my local dollar store and was so excited about it! As Sunshine strung the beads we talked about their shapes and colors. I added some new words to her vocab like cube and cylinder.

Cute polar bear made all of circles.

A house with many shapes. She did an amazing job matching the shapes up with the template.

Having a tea party in her crib with her best buddies. Sunshine loves playing in her crib. Often she will ask to play in there.

Tot School: Valentines Day & Hearts

Sunshine is 31 months old.

Sunshine has shown some interest in shapes lately so I decided to run with it and we began our adventure with shapes learning about hearts since we just came off of the candy high from Valentine's Day. (Not all our activities surrounded hearts, but that was the general theme.) First here are some pictures from Valentines Day and the festivities that went on.

Filling heart boxes with Hershey kisses for her peers at school.

SUNDAY
A friend of ours offered to take us to a local hockey game on Valentine's Day. It was Sunshine's first game! She loved it! We were three rows back from the ice and to one side of the goal so we saw lots of action! Each time the players would hit to boards, Sunshine would say, "OH!" She was given a balloon wand from this lady who was making them and only asking for donations! So neat!

She was also lucky enough to be given a game puck!!! She was so excited and kept saying how cold it was.

MONDAY
Working on her foam number puzzle that I picked up at the Dollar Store.
Hearts

Working on sorting mini erasers using bamboo tongs. This is the first time she has used tongs to sort things and at first she had a difficult time, but she persisted and got the hang of it! I was so proud of her!

TUESDAY
Matching hearts from Carissa which were a bit of a challenge for Sunshine as well, but she figured them out.
Hearts

We also made the heart color book from Carissa! It was such fun and she did great matching the crayons to the words.

WEDNESDAY
Dadddy has been taking Sunshine every Wednesday to our local library for story time in the mornings. They read a couple stories, sing a few songs, and make a craft. This weeks craft was a mask for Mardi Gras and here she is modeling it.

THURSDAY
We made crayons with broken ones we had hanging around. I used a heat shape mold that I had and then we had fun color with them.

FRIDAY
Sunshine came home from school on Friday raving about the cookies she had with lunch and wanted us to bake some cookies, so we did! It was just a mix from the store, but she loved it!
