Tot School: July 20 - 26, 2009

Sunshine is 24 months, 2 weeks old.

We did not do a lot in Tot School this week as I just wasn't motivated. This is my second week back to work after having just about 2 months off so it's been a bit of a tough transition for all of us. Sunshine got two new Melissa and Doug puzzles last weekend and we had much fun playing with them in the beginning of the week, even though I did not manage to get any pics.

We began our week with a trip to the beach. We have gone quite a few time this summer, but Sunshine loves it and certainly has not grown bored of it. She dug in the sand and ran in and out of the waves.

Then we made a yummy banana bread! Sunshine helped me put in all the dry ingredients and scrap off the batter. She makes a good assistant chef!

TS WEEK 8
She is also learning how to dry her own hair when she is done in the bath. I took a video of this and am hoping to get it up on my blog soon! (Not to worry - the drier is on the cool setting!)

Our Our butterfly hatched on Tuesday and we let him go on Thursday night. It was so rewarding to let him go, yet sad at the same time. It's been fun watching him change so drastically! Bye-bye! (The last pic makes it look like it was dark out when we released him, but it was not! Just my camera flash being wonky I guess!)

TS WEEK 8
Last but not least this week we went to one of our local parks and played for a bit. There is a pond at the park the has a trail all the way around it, so we walked it. Sunshine walked about 3/4 of the way around it! I am so proud! While on our walk, we collected some nature items that we will play with and explore this next week.

24 Month Doctors Apt

Sunshine had her 24 month month well visit on July 20th. She did really well. Dr. Reimer says she looks and sounds great so that makes momma happy! She is 33 inches tall and weighes 25lbs - perfectly porportient! :) Dr. Reimer asked me if she has had any more poop issues since her hospitalization in April; she has not so the doc moved it from a current condition into Sunshine's history on her medical records. Doc told me to stay away from Motrin, unless a doc suggests she take it in which we will put her on an antacid to combat the issues we had. She got two shots - her last HepA and her Hib that she missed at her 18 month visit since it was in shortage. The first shot, her eyes popped open very wide and one the second one her face got BRIGHT red like she was going to start wailing any second. I scooped her up and praised her for how great she did and she didn't cry! Then she needed to have her blood drawn for a lead level test and when the flabotnist came into do it she covered up her legs with her skirt! LOL! So funny!! He pricked her finger and she shed not a single tear; she just let him do what her had to do! What a good girl!!!! She makes me so proud!

Doll House Chatter

Sunshine and I were playing with her Fisher Price Little People Doll House before her nap. She playing with the people and laid two of them into the plastic bed.
Here is the conversation that followed:
Me: (picked up boy) "Who is this?"
Sunshine: "Dada." (giggle, giggle)
Me: (picked up a girl) "Who is this?"
Sunshine: "Pretty."
Me: "Pretty??"
Sunshine: "Pretty Momma."

Awwwww........

We went to the Squam Lake Science Center to visit the animals and take a nice walk on a trail through the woods. Sunshine enjoyed seeing the animals, but got very cranky towards the end of our visit. Sunshne got to touch a deer pelt and a bear skin. Can you find the hiding fox???

I bought Sunshine a new nap mat for when she went back to childcare this past week. Of course she had to try it out and that spurred on her putting her babies for their nap too!

Play dough continues to be one of her favorite activities! She used blue to go along with our B theme.

Photobucket

She also enjoyed playing with the playhouse and tunnels that daddy and I bought her for her birthday!

While we were playing outside we used some pieces of blue streamer to run with and dangle in the wind. It was great fun!

Photobucket

Having a tea party with her Curious George tea set and enjoying her new adirondack chair.

Sunshine has not had much success with lacing things, until this week!! YAY! She laced cheerios onto a pipe cleaner! I was so proud of her!!!

I got this amazing idea to create a count down chain for Sunshine's birthday party (which was July 11) from my friend Jill. Each day Sunshine ripped off a link from the chain and we counted how many were left. You can see the party festivities here.

Second Birthday Festivities!

We celebrated Sunshine's birthday on July 11 by having a party at our house. The weather couldn't have been better! It was a lovely party and eveyone had a BLAST!
Bundle of balloons! The George balloon is 36 inches TALL!!! Taller then Sunshine!

Taking a moment to play in her sandbox.

Sunshine's BFF Ryleigh. They are only three weeks apart in age and look at all Ry's hair! WOW!

My BFF's (she's in the aqua shirt) son Evan (10 months old) and his grammie; he's such a doll and a happy kid!

Sunshine's newest baby cousin, Rebecca. She is 8 weeks old.

Another of Kayley's baby cousins, Mason, who is 4 months old.

Mason's twin, Aidan.

Splashing in the pool; water was too cold to go swimming.

Opening her first gift; the chair she is sitting in was given to her by her Grandma and Grandpa (daddy's parents).

This was from my parents and she was running over to show my dad what they gave her! LOL!

Opening her last gift....

a tricycle from Nunny and Papa (my parents)! There was a George doll sitting in the basket of it and she went for him first! LOL!

The yummy cake!!!
